The entire Cenote Hydration System is made of food grade materials and is BPA-free and Phthalate-free. When used as it is intended, the bag will hold up as long as non-recyclable drinking systems. If you run over your hydration bladder with a semi or pump it full of air like some of our competitors do to test their products, the bag might not give a top-of-the-line performance. But honestly, if you are in a situation where you need to pump a bladder full of air (to what, use it as a makeshift life raft?), you might have more to worry about than the quality of your hydration system.
To recycle your old bladder, just cut out the plastic cap connector made of plastic #2 from the rest of the bag made of plastic #4 and stick them separately into your recycle bin. For more recycle tips, including a list of recycle centers near you, check out our Recycle Page. Or, if you want us to do the dirty work for you, see instructions on the box on how fold it into a pre-postmarked package to send your old bag into our office. We will recycle anything we receive, but please, have a heart, and try not to send us in anything too nasty.
